Happy Diwali 2021: Long and Short Speech in English

Good morning everyone. Thank you for giving me an opportunity to share some words about Diwali.

Before I start my speech, I would like to wish you a happy Diwali to everyone.

India is known for its rich culture and festivals. We all are waiting for the year to celebrate this festival. This is because families, kids, relatives, and neighbours gather at one place and enjoy themselves with near and dear ones.

Diwali or Deepawali signifies the victory of light over darkness. On this day, people worship the goddess Dhanavantri. The deity that is dedicated to one’s health and wellness.

Diwali is not just only a festival; it is an emotion. We all have heard different different stories from our grandparents about the beautiful festival, and it has different versions.

Some believe that this is victory over darkness, good over evil, knowledge over ignorance.

One of the main reasons for celebrating Diwali is After killing Ravana of Lanka, Sri Ram, with his wife Sita and younger brother Lakshman, returned to Ayodhya after 14 years. They spend 14 years in the forest. For the symbol of goodness, we celebrate this day every year.

We celebrate this festival with lots of enthusiasm and happiness by cracking firecrackers. These are the things we all know, but I want to share something else that you might not know.

Some days before we all of us celebrated Navratri with the right essence. We awakened the 8 powers of the soul within. Power to tolerate, power to accept, power to face, power to co-operate, power to decide. We understood each power in depth. We applied and implemented it in our life.

We can say that the Dussehra is celebrated with the correct essence when Raavan within us get defeated. When we emerge 8 powers and burn the Raavan within us, then only Diwali comes to us and in the world around us.

The true meaning of Diwali is lighting up the soul within. It is that time of the year when not just in every house but also in every country and the whole world is enthusiastically preparing for Diwali.

Diwali is a time for cleaning

Diwali is a time for newness

Diwali is a time for lights

It is a time for gifts

It is the time to eat and distribute sweets.

It is a time to bless each other. It is a time to finish all the matters and karmic accounts from the past over which we entangled with each other and begin a new year and a new era. That time of the year is Diwali.

Several days before Diwali, all of us start the cleaning process. We do clean up every day, clean our homes, body, and mind. But Diwali cleaning reaches another level; we clean thoroughly every corner and nook.

This is the time to declutter our mind, inner soul, all negative thoughts from our body, along with the cleaning process. Whenever the mind is cleaned, we can not evoke Shri Lakshmi Ji. Invoking Shri Lakshmi Ji means invoking the purity and divinity within us.

If there is dirt within, how can divinity emerge? Check every corner of your mind for cobwebs, dirt, deep strains from the past. Otherwise, the purity of the soul is finished.

Inner conversation with ourselves should be nice and positive. Every single wrong thought is a strain, and every single right thought removes the strain. All these depend upon our thought process.

We need to remove the strains on our minds by learning spiritual knowledge, remembering god, and taking his powers. Only then does Diwali comes into our life.

So, take these next few days and really spend time with yourself. Diwali is not just a festival to celebrate outside; it is a festival to be celebrated internally. Every festival has to be celebrated inside.

We are focusing so much only from outside today, so rewind this CD of the soul as far back as you remember and clean everything that needs to be cleaned in mind.

If you are holding even a single thought, “why did they do this to me”? Everything needs to be erased.

Even if we have made a mistake, we become very critical of ourselves and keep thinking about the mistake. Remove that strain of guilt and self-criticism from the mind also.

So, let’s make this Diwali a strain-free Diwali.

Diwali or Deepawali. The festival of lights is the most popular and most significant festival in India.

Did you know the meaning of Deepawali? Deepawali means rows of lighted diyas or deeps. When Lord ram returned to Ayodhya after completing 14 years of forest life, the people of Ayodhya welcomed him by lighting rows of diyas.

From then, this day became a festival. Every festival is for spreading happiness. Initially, these festivals were celebrated eco-friendly.

All of us know that everything is changed with time and so does the way celebrations. We crack firecrackers and generate so much plastic waste also.

It ends up with air pollution, plastic pollution, which is not suitable for the earth. It can harm the common person’s health as well as lead to global warming.

I am not against firecrackers, and not saying to avoid them also. Just we need to buy eco-friendly options available in the market.

So, this year we need to understand the situation and celebrate eco-friendly way. After all, we are going to live here. We will be safe when the plant is safe.

So, wish you a Happy Eco Diwali.
